We're moving

Quick update: We sold our house, to close late next month (August). We had our offer on a new house accepted. We'll close on that a few days after the other. We're moving. OMG. Again.

Congrats! Nice to see that you're not moving in the dead of winter. You're smarter than we were. ;)

leonie, we're moving to Oregon!

Dave, your neck of the woods. And we were very happy that our house sold quickly and that we're not going to need to get over the mountains in snow or ice!

Pics of the new place can be found here.

And of course I have to be in NYC instead of home packing the next two weeks, and we move at the end of August. I hope B doesn't freak out with all the packing!

Oh boy... and you're buying in Bend right about the time that there are gazillions of homes for sale. Low-ball your first offer, and good luck!!!

PS Keep us updated as to when you're settled in. Have fun moving (ha ha).

Durrrr - didn't see the link to your new home in the comments.

VERRRRrrry cool. It looks very nice, and has a great kitchen!

Congrats on the new place. Make sure that you're added to bendblogs.com (jake!)

We hope we're not being utter idiots by buying instead of renting in this market. But we really prefer to own our own home, and expect to STAY there (for a change) for many, many years.

Keeneye, we did a lot of research on houses, and I used to be an appraiser. We did get the seller to what we feel is a great price -- there's another house pending closing within a block of our place, and we're paying the same amount for our place as those buyers are paying - and our place has an additional 500SF of house.

And yes, the neighborhood is fully baked, without new homes being built. We did not want to buy in a neighborhood that wasn't completed.

We should close at the end of this month. EEK.

CONGRATS! And welcome to Central Oregon. For cell phone I would still recommend Unicel. ;)

Your house looks great. Hope you have a safe move.
